It’s almost summer!

Calgary announced a new law allowing alcohol consumption in select parks as of June 1st.  We all know what that means: boozy summer picnic box!

Here is a list of places where you can get ready-made picnic baskets to go with your summer drink of choice:

1. River Café

What: You can choose a Picnic à la carte and customize your basket, or you can enjoy their Picnic Garden on their outdoor picnic tables (this depends on the patio restrictions in effect).

2. Bow Valley Ranch Restaurant

What: They offer Al Fresco baskets with a set menu of crudités, charcuterie, sandwiches and desserts.  You also have the option of adding wine, beer or a non-alcoholic beverage to your basket.

3. Brie & Banquet

What: This catering company offers “edible art”, which are carefully designed picnic boxes.  They also offer a monthly subscription picnic box, perfect for maintaining a summer picnic tradition!

4. YYC Foodtrucks


What: They have a char-cutie box of curated meats, cheeses and much more designed with different portions for 1 up to 15 people.

5. GOATcuterie

What: They deliver made-to-order Grazing Boxes with a selection of meats, cheeses and local produce.  The owners were mentored by Maria from MERcuterie, Vancouver’s first grazing company!
