Arriving to the venue
As soon as we arrived at CF Chinook Centre, the signage made it super easy to find the ‘Mirror Mirror’ Experience. We were greeted by ushers who instructed us to enter so they could check our tickets, and just like that — the journey began. We found ourselves in a room where we had to choose between 3 doors, à la Alice in Wonderland. Making our way through the first one, we got transported to a world of light and sound. It dawned on us: we were standing in the mystical Forest of Echoes…
Navigating the 8 rooms
The Forest of Echoes is a striking room full of mirrors. Countless mirrors and light beams highlighted the multiple sides of our personalities, perhaps even reflecting who we truly are. As we made our way through the other rooms, each as different as the next, we found ourselves influencing the flow of the actual experience! It’s like our thoughts and movements animated the installations, creating a different journey for each of us.
At the River of Time, we jumped through a flowing digital river, making music as we went. Further down at Cosmic Jumble, we made a virtual collage with our touch. Using a variety of lighting, lasers, mirrors, and special effects, each room felt unique — perfect for those of us who often have our heads in the clouds.
Saying goodbye
It took us about 45 – 60 minutes to go through the entire ‘Mirror Mirror’ adventure, mainly because we took our time playing and chatting as we went along. We finished our journey at Mirrors of Tomorrow, an interactive photo booth where we got assigned a Tarot card. Each card tells a different message, and it was funny debating what that meant for our lives. We found it was a very cute way to end the adventure! At the exit point, we picked up our very own Tarot card, the perfect souvenir for such a memorable experience.
