You can separate a true fan of a particular movie or tv show from your average viewer by the two seconds it takes them to recognise its theme song. The Candlelight series continues to celebrate the power of music made for the screen with various tributes to studios and award-winning composers. This year, Candlelight is exploring the emotional depth and complexity of soundtracks composed by the likes of Hans Zimmer and Joe Hisaishi.
All of the drama and cinematic beauty of tv shows and films is being recreated through music at unique venues across Calgary. These magical Candlelight concerts are being hosted at the impressive Hangar Flight Museum and The Lantern Community Church.
Candlelight: A Haunted Evening of Halloween Classics
Something spooky this way comes! A couple of Halloween-themed Candlelight concerts are coming to Calgary to enchant visitors with spooky tunes from well-known films. The Listeso String Quartet will perform by candlelight at The Lantern Community Church and Grace Presbyterian Church and as candles flickers, haunting tunes will ring out. Expect to hear themes from Beetlejuice, Ghostbusters, and Stranger Things alongside Michael Jackson’s ‘Thriller’ and the soul-stirring ‘Funeral March of a Marionette’ by Charles Gounod. Get ready for a spine-chilling experience!
Hearing your favourite theme songs or film scores at an intimate Candlelight concert is a unique way to discover something new about the shows you adore or appreciate the music as a separate, moving piece.
The Candlelight series takes place twice each night with two back to back 60-65 minute performances. Doors will open 30 minutes prior to each show.
Note: For the safety of our audience, all of the candlelight will be provided through flameless candles.
